Soccer Prep. recognises qualities for inventiveness and creation when set plays are concerned.
Soccer Prep.’s recognition goes to Gus Poyet and his backroom staff for the clever free kick, which has been made highly successful in their victorious League One campaign (2010/1011).
Main Free Kick Set Up
Predominately, the free kick has been won in central areas (About 30 yards from goal) thus within shooting range. This has the knock on effect of the opposition usually placing four players in a wall plus a charger to make five. See diagrams and video to bring the set play to life.
To counter act intuitive teams who begin to put less players in the wall, the set play variation provides a blocker and bright players.
